What sustainability initiatives does the venue implement?
The FILMQUARTIER WIEN has been committed to sustainability for over 20 years. Back then, life was breathed into the completely paved courtyard, and large areas of asphalt were replaced with green spaces. The ivy on the facades ensures air purification, and the lawn in the centre balances the microclimate for everyone. Our numerous film locations have been constructed or renovated exclusively with natural building materials, making them pollutant-free. For decades, we have sourced 100% of our electricity from renewable energies, and we are now officially certified as a GREEN LOCATION.
Today, as a bearer of the Austrian Eco-label, the FILMQUARTIER WIEN is referred to by many visitors as an "urban oasis near Naschmarkt." Our lush herb gardens, fruit trees, palms, and many other plants are not only pleasant for the eyes, but provide good air quality and are accompanied by birdsong.
