Wirtshaus zur Pfaueninsel

The inn's namesake is one of the most popular excursion destinations for Berliners and visitors alike - Peacock Island.

Peacock Island, a 67-hectare landscape park, is a protected nature reserve and, together with the palaces and parks of Sanssouci in Potsdam and Glienicke Palace, is a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Idyllically situated on the Havel, at the end of a beautiful forest road through Düppeler Forst, the beautiful panorama of the Havel, Wannsee and Pfaueninsel opens up.

The green and white awnings of the Pfaueninsel inn are visible from afar to weekenders, hikers and sailors.

Once used as Queen Luise's horse stables, the ensemble now houses two taverns, a banqueting hall and two spacious outdoor terraces with a view of the surrounding river landscape and only four minutes away from Peacock Island.

The ambience reflects the tradition of the inns of days gone by and was modernised in 2015/2016 with great attention to detail.

The cosy Wirtsstuben offer space for 90 people and in winter the seats by the fireplace are particularly sought-after.

The banqueting hall with the smaller "Salzburg" room shines in bright colours. Clear lines, without fixed fixtures, allow a wide variety of uses. As in the Wirtsstube, there is a fireplace in a central position. The room is ideal for groups or events with up to 140 people to enjoy undisturbed in intimate company.

The lakeside garden is idyllically situated to the right of the restaurant, under ancient plane trees, and also offers a magnificent view over the lake landscape. In the summer months, the water on this side is bustling with countless sailing ships and boats.

At this point you can enjoy the far-reaching view of the Havel and the most beautiful sunset in Berlin.

The traditional-modern inn cuisine with contemporary interpretations of regional dishes and the homemade cakes round off the offer and ensure the physical well-being of our guests for every occasion - occasions and celebrations such as wedding parties, birthdays, summer parties or company celebrations.
