We want to create a down-to-earth place to stay from a historic empty workshop (in a house from 1869) in Bern's Lorraine district: the WerkStadt Lorraine.
We built the WerkStadt during the coronavirus crisis in 2020, taking inspiration from concepts of the circular economy. A colourful and creative team is behind the WerkStadt. We are united by our love of food, exciting collaborations and unconventional solutions. For us, the flavour experience is even greater when the products are produced locally and sustainably.
We want to pass this passion and joy on to you, our guests!
WerkStadt Lorraine is a café, a shop and a space.
You can rent the space 7 days a week in the evening from 16h00, with or without the WerkStadt team.
Would you like a glass of wine or our aperitif platters to accompany your event? We will be happy to tell you more about the fine products we offer.
From morning coffee to an after-work beer, WerkStadt is open 7 days a week. Brunch, coffee & cake, Viennoiserie, lunch and aperitif platters with many homemade specialities in organic quality.
We work with friends from all over Switzerland who supply us directly with sustainably produced products. Many of these are organic or biodynamic - sometimes labelled, often not.
Our coffee is not only organic and Fairtrade, but is also imported directly and without intermediaries.
Rental period is freely negotiable
