A heritage of more than 100 years of history
The VILLA SCHMIDT is located in Kehl on the Rhine, in Germany, at No 12 Ludwig-Trick-Strasse, on the banks of the Rhine, opposite the Strasbourg district of Port-du-Rhin and directly on the garden " Des Deux Rives " , only 10 minutes away from Strasbourg city center .
The VILLA was built on the remains of the southern part of the bridge fortress of Kehl. The origins of the walls go back to the fortress built by Sébastien Le Prestre de VAUBAN. The Trick family was a large and famous industrialist family. The cellulose company " TRICKZELLSTOFF " also belonged to the business empire.
Mr. Schmidt, the son-in-law of the founder Ludwig Trick, entrusted the planning and construction of the VILLA to the Darmstadt architectural office " MAHR and MARKWORTH ".
HIGHLIGHT OF THE CROSS-BORDER CULTURE
The almost hundred-year-old upper middle-class building now houses a restaurant bearing the name of the villa with banquet and seminar facilities.
