St. Elisabeth-Kirche & Villa Elisabeth

The Villa Elisabeth, a listed building, impresses with its generosity. Through a spacious foyer and up a wide staircase with wrought-iron banisters, you enter the gallery hall. Stuccoed columns and arches support the gallery, the characteristic herringbone parquet flooring, half-height wooden panels and heavy double-leaf wooden doors underline the historic charm of this carefully renovated ballroom.

As a free venue, the Villa Elisabeth offers space for a wide-ranging, curated cultural programme; the focus is on contemporary and early music, experimental and interdisciplinary formats, but also classical chamber music series, vocal music in smaller ensembles, modern music and dance theatre as well as experimental performances and up-and-coming projects.

St. Elisabeth is a place where history remains tangible. A free space for the most diverse arts and artists, which this church in the middle of the city reveals: a place for artistic development, improvisation, concentration and dialogue between culture and church.

Performances of early and contemporary music and modern music/speech and dance theatre form a focal point, as do exhibitions of current art and, above all, experimental projects with a combination of different genres and forms of design.

Outside the St. Elisabeth & Villa Elisabeth ensemble, the likewise listed church park - a green gem in Berlin-Mitte - invites visitors to linger. The park is also suitable for closed events thanks to its fencing and all-round greenery.

Special features: two separate, combinable historic buildings in Berlin-Mitte, connected by a park, usable for outdoor events.
