The old paper mill has a long and eventful past. Built in 1911, the building on the old mill stream was initially used to extract grey board. The old pumping system that transported the water from the mill stream to the paddle wheel still bears witness to this time. Later, the hall served the Polar Mohr company as a training workshop and, until 2010, as a warehouse.
In September 2010, Hans-Jürgen Mock and Bernhard Westenberger learned that the old paper mill was empty. They had seen the imposing building many times before, but it seemed clear that no new tenant would be sought here for many years to come.
Far from it. In October 2010, former Bundesliga referee Lutz Wagner and Mock/Westenberger agreed. The foundation stone for the ShowSpielhaus Main-Taunus was laid.
The theatre for the Rhine-Main region was opened exactly 100 years after the building was erected, in October 2011.
