The only town hall in the world that is home to two "parliaments". The Hamburg Parliament and our beautiful "Parlament" restaurant. When you enter the Parlament restaurant for the first time, you are initially amazed: Who would have thought that such a bright and spacious splendour could be found in the basement of Hamburg City Hall. Metre-high columns, a radiantly illuminated vaulted ceiling and a twelve-metre-long bar make the imposing dining room a real experience for the senses. The historical works of art such as ceiling paintings, frescoes, murals and of course the original foundation stone of the town hall have of course been preserved. During the renovation, old menus dating back to 1897 were even found - they now adorn the wall in the main dining room. "Hanseatically modern, harmoniously framed in the traditional shell of the imposing town hall" was how one guest described the parliament when it opened in January 2007 - how apt. Today, the Parliament is one of Hamburg's top addresses. This is where the world meets: while tourists relax after a stroll through the beautiful Hanseatic city, well-known figures from business and politics discuss the latest events of the day at the next table. With a bit of luck, you might even meet the Lord Mayor or famous Hamburgers such as singer Udo Lindenberg. Those who want to satisfy their hunger in the Parliament are served the best German and international dishes: whether it's Hamburg pan-fried fish or North Sea plaice, beef roulade or Wiener schnitzel, tarte flambée or pasta - chef Thomas Patorra and his team ensure that all dishes are freshly prepared, beautifully decorated and served with lots of love.
