Palais cellar in the Würtzburg-Palais
Old whitewashed, solid walls and iron rings embedded in the ceiling - our historic vaulted cellar in the Würtzburg-Palais provides a great backdrop for celebrations and family parties as well as an exceptional setting for seminars and workshops.
The building was named after its builder Johann Veit von Würtzburg. He had it built in the shadow of the cutting tower around 1720. Today, the Würtzburg-Palais is home to the city's own Congress - Tourismus - Würzburg organisation. A separate entrance leads from the inner courtyard into the palace cellar. A few steps lead down into the originally preserved vaults. Through the foyer you enter the actual event room, which can accommodate up to 50 people. In winter, underfloor heating under the stone slabs ensures cosy temperatures, while the vaulted ceiling provides a pleasant coolness in summer. Catering is not tied to a specific partner. You are welcome to outsource the catering services to a catering company of your choice or you can do it yourself. There is a small sideboard with storage space, a fridge and a sink in a separate room. Crockery, glasses and utensils for setting the tables are not available.
The Palaiskeller is centrally located, close to the river Main on the edge of the old town. The railway station (10 minutes) and the market square (8 minutes) are within walking distance. If you are interested, please drop by.
