Nostalgisches Puppentheater- Das Dortmunder Figurentheater

Book one of the most beautiful puppet theaters in Germany, the "Nostalgic Puppet Theater". The last months were used to renovate and gently modernize the nostalgic interior. The hall received a new wall covering and lighting. Also a part of the elaborate stage technology was renewed - so in the meantime almost every effect can be realized. Unique in a puppet theater: the dancing fountains - an illuminated water organ in front of the theater stage with a rain wall.

The repertoire includes the classic hand puppetry with the original Hohnstein figures and over 80 different pieces, as well as puppet theater for the whole family such as "The Wunchpunch", "The Little Witch..." & "Charles Dickens Christmas Tales" and also an adult program with operas such as "The Magic Flute" & "The Abduction from the Seraglio", as well as revue productions with puppets. Readings are also held in our rooms, as well as recitals.

The fairytale-like outdoor area captivates with many enchanted decorative elements, as well as 5 fairytale houses in which you can see the fairytales of the Brothers Grimm in motion and listen to them.

The Nostalgic Puppet Theater, romantically located in Dortmund's Westfalenpark, is probably one of the most beautifully designed puppet theaters in existence. This gem has been in existence for 29 years now and enjoys great popularity with a space utilization of almost 100%.

Marionettes, hand puppets, stage sets and all props are lovingly handmade in the in-house workshop.

This venue is wonderfully suited for filming, photo sessions, events such as recitals or readings in small circles. It is also possible to book a performance of our theater followed by a drink.
