The non-profit Foundation Kultur- und Lebensraum Musegg runs one of the last small farms in the middle of the city of Lucerne. It has focused on organic farming from the very beginning, runs a Bio Cuisine-certified organic restaurant, a farm store, organizes cultural events, provides event rooms, offers educational courses for children, teenagers and adults and holds sustainability workshops for companies. The Kulturhof wants to find new solutions together with its visitors and create a sustainable now.
We live sustainability! Be it in organic farming, in the farm restaurant and farm store with seasonal, local and certified organic products, the cultural offerings related to sustainability, the wide range of educational opportunities or the energy concept. We try to be as free of fossil fuels as possible by producing our own solar power. When renovating the farm, we made a conscious effort to be as energy-efficient and resource-conserving as possible in terms of construction, operation and mobility, thus meeting the 2000-watt SIA 2040 standard.
Since the foundation was established, numerous social and sustainable projects have already been implemented. From cultural events such as the summer festival, film evenings with panel discussions, theater performances for young and old or the provision of public trails such as the educational trail, sensory trail and sustainability trail. The Kulturhof aims to give a broad section of the population access to sustainable, social and ecological topics and is guided by the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
