The listed building complex of the former Kindl brewery was built between 1926 and 1930 according to plans by the architects Hans Claus and Richard
Schepke in the style of German Expressionism in red brick.
Since 2014, the KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art has been presenting temporary exhibitions of international contemporary art under the artistic
direction of curator Kathrin Becker.
Depending on the exhibition situation, the Sudhaus (cafe) with its six copper kettles, the former Maschinenhaus with its historical elevated control
room, the twenty-metre-high Kesselhaus, and the art education rooms can be used for events of all kinds. The original function of the rooms in the
brewery is still visible and lends the spaces a special ambience.
By renting space at the KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art, you will be directly supporting art and culture. The proceeds from renting these spaces
are an important part of our funding for future exhibitions.
Rent can be extended beyond the indicated period upon mutual agreement.
