Committed to tradition!!!
Already in the sixth generation we lead our family business in the heart of Steppach.
Since its founding in 1431, the, then as now, popular inn experienced an eventful and interesting history. From the beginning of the 15th century until the end of the 19th century, the in-house brewery with its beer specialties gave the inn its name. In the Reichsadler-Bräu, travelers and locals enjoyed the widely known delicacies from the kitchen, the drinkable beer and the warm hospitality. Among the illustrious guests of that time were famous personalities such as Götz von Berlichingen, Giacomo Casanova and the later Emperor Napoleon III with his mother Hortense of Holland.
In 1782, the kitchen caught fire during a wedding banquet and the building burned down partially. The inn, which was subsequently renovated from the ground up and reopened the following year, can still be found in this form today.
A good century later, the brewmaster Franz Joseph Fuchs II married the widowed inn owner Karolina Steger, and since that year 1890 the Fuchs Brewery Inn has been owned by the family. At that time, guests, among them Joachim Ringelnatz and Magda Schneider, were served specialties from their own brewery, butchery, bakery and farm.
Since that time, extensive renovation and renewal work has been carried out again and again on the traditional buildings.
And so today you will find here our brewery inn and hotel, which combine this long tradition with all the comforts of today.
