The old main goods station in Kiel was renovated in 2015/2016 in close consultation with the heritage conservation authority and converted into one of the best-equipped event locations in the north. The effort was well worth it, as the station now presents itself as an event location full of character and charm, without missing any amenities.
Historic red brick on the outside, whitewashed walls on the inside, the original, open wooden roof truss and lots of glass, stainless steel, white interior and original accessories - all finely coordinated to create an atmospheric whole. The proportions are particularly pleasing: The length, width and ceiling height give the room a pleasant intimacy despite its size.
There is also a sheltered rear courtyard in a wonderfully sunny south-facing position with a sweeping view of the Vieburger Gehölz, which is ideal for barbecues and outdoor parties in the summer months. In the more unsettled months, the covered gallery, the former loading ramp of the goods station, is available for this purpose.
Centrality, free parking, easy accessibility by public transport and the sheltered location on the edge of an industrial estate with no restrictions on noise emissions make the freight depot the ideal location for celebrations of all kinds.
