The glow-head engine factory of the Deutsche Kromhout Motoren-Fabrik Aktiengesellschaft, built in 1912, has a floor area of 2,000 m², or around 4,000 m² on the two existing levels, and is still in a very original condition in the pretty little seaport town of Brake (Unterweser). Until 1934, glow-head motors for ships and locomotives were manufactured here. After the world economic crisis and insolvency, the building was used as a sack factory by the Bremen port handling company Karl Gross.
