The Galander Bar in Kreuzberg is located in a building steeped in history at Großbeerenstraße 54, in the immediate vicinity of Riehmers Hofgarten, a listed complex with magnificent front buildings, a private street and inner buildings. The tall old buildings with their elaborately designed façades bear witness to the grandeur of the Yorckstraße neighbourhood at the end of the 19th century. The premises of the Galander Bar Kreuzberg have a tradition of serving drinks and bar business dating back to 1889:
Among other things, they housed a public house, a quaint Berlin pub and a colonial-style bar. Since 2009, the location has been in the hands of Dominik Galander, who has furnished the bar with great attention to detail in the style of the 1920s. The interior design and the entrance area harmonise perfectly with the preserved façade painting that adorns the outside wall.
