Why the City Wave is not just a must-go for surfers
When most of you think of surfing hotspots, you probably think of Hawaii, the famous Californian Malibu Beach or the rugged Portuguese Atlantic coast. But Vienna? The City Wave has been attracting surfers to the Austrian capital since 2016. The artificial wave rolls from the end of May to the beginning of September on the multiplex terraces right outside the doors of our flagship destination Westfield Shopping City Süd and attracts tens of thousands of curious visitors every year - an ideal opportunity for brands to present themselves at a really cool location.
We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you activations centred around this summer attraction with immediate effect! The possibilities on the 800 square metre area are diverse and, as always, there are no limits to the imagination: the pool, splash walls, board racks, boards, staff clothing, the furniture in the cosy lounge for over 200 spectators and much more are perfect for eye-catching branding. The City Wave is not just the place to be for athletes
Top brands such as Almdudler, Blue Tomato, Kia, Magenta, Red Bull, Samsung and Visa have already been part of the unique spectacle - and can be seen in countless media reports and social media postings by enthusiastic participants and visitors. As if the 7.5 metre wide and up to 1.4 metre high wave, which is powered entirely by green electricity, wasn't spectacular enough, the programme also regularly includes eye-catching events: the official Austrian river surfing championships, the air mattress surfing world championships and weekly DJ sets are just some of the highlights in the "Surfing City South".
Rental period is freely negotiable
