With a great deal of dedication and attention to detail, a very special place has been created on the former site of Württemberg's first state airport . CHECK INN, a partner of MOTORWORLD Region Stuttgart, has been home to warm hospitality and culinary delights of the highest calibre in a historic setting since 2016.

The open-fronted restaurant in a modern interpretation of vintage industrial style impresses with its balanced combination of bar and lounge area. The special highlight is the large bar with a long counter. The adjoining sun terrace with a view of Böblingen airfield invites you to linger on balmy summer evenings.

The historic reception building has been lovingly furnished with a high standard of comfort and harmony. It offers space for events or conferences for up to 55 people.

The adjoining garden lounge, surrounded by olive trees and wonderfully fragrant oleanders, provides the perfect setting for a free wedding ceremony, a BBQ buffet event or conferences and team events in the open air.

In the TERMINAL EINS event hall, characterised by steel and glass, you will find support on high-quality, dark parquet flooring. With a room height of 5 metres and floor-to-ceiling glazing on three sides, it offers sufficient air and space for up to 140 people. Equipped with the latest technology. You can also enjoy pure sunshine on the TERMINAL EINS terrace.

Sustainability

What sustainability initiatives does the venue implement?

We are environmentally conscious and are specifically reducing our consumption of resources and therefore also our ecological footprint.

Our head chef Kenneth Rentschler, for example, pays particular attention to regionality and seasonality in addition to the outstanding quality of the ingredients in his creations.

Instead of energy-intensive frozen food, we prefer to use high-quality, fresh organic food from organic farming wherever possible.

We organise our menu according to the seasons. By buying food that is in season, we not only ensure variety, but also avoid long transport routes, CO2 emissions, energy consumption and high water consumption in dry growing regions in other countries.

We do not organise our purchasing with a large number of suppliers, do not plan our deliveries on a daily basis and try to bundle them.

It goes without saying that we separate the resulting waste accordingly and recycle it.

But we also pay attention to sustainability in the catering and bar area. For example, we mainly use cloth napkins, felt coasters and glass straws. When it comes to coffee specialities, we focus on sustainability together with NESPRESSO

Disposable packaging, where necessary, is only made from ecological or recyclable materials. However, as we calculate our portion sizes according to the needs of our guests, also with regard to food waste, these are hardly ever used.

Our extensive outdoor greenery not only creates a natural atmosphere and promotes the well-being of our guests, it also counteracts climate change to a small extent. We also use the proceeds from our FOOD FOR NATURE and DRINK FOR NATURE to support reforestation projects in cooperation with our partner CLICK A TREE.
