Over the years, many prominent residents and owners, mostly mayors and councillors of the city of Cottbus, stayed in the house. At the beginning of the 19th century, the property was no longer only used for catering purposes, but also for cultural events. Theatre plays were now performed in the "Golden Ring" hotel - as it was known at the time - until a theatre hall was finally built in 1854. This was extended in 1891 with equipment from the demolished Viktoria Theatre in Berlin. Today, the Alte Stadthaus with its historic theatre is the perfect venue for any kind of event!
Whether cabaret and comedy, concerts and cabaret, conferences and congresses, TV programmes and recordings, corporate events, weddings, anniversaries or Christmas parties. The former and first theatre hall in Cottbus offers a unique backdrop for your events!
Tickets for all events in the Altes Stadthaus can be obtained directly from the Cottbus Service in the Stadthalle.
