Our extraordinary and unique location in the Bergisches Land is an almost 100 year old machine hall in the heart of Solingen.
The rustic interior underlines the industrial charm and testifies to the early phase of the industrial revolution at the end of the 18th century. The solid brick building is provided with sufficient daylight thanks to the numerous high rectangular windows and a ceiling height of up to 11 metres.
The building is accessed through two double doors, one leading into the former boiler hall, the other into the machine hall. In the latter stands a tandem compound steam engine together with an impressive flywheel. Today the engine is a real "eye-catcher" in the location. Among many other preserved historical elements, the switchboard with wall painting above it is worth mentioning. In addition, there is a movable crane in the machine hall, which can also be used. The floor is covered with largely preserved tiles in a checkerboard pattern.
Following extensive refurbishment in 2019/20, this historic building was transformed. The aim was to preserve this historic building and make it ready for modern, contemporary use. The historic elements have been lovingly renovated and showcased by the latest technology. Thanks to our lighting technology, the halls can be illuminated with different coloured light and can be given a different visual effect as desired.
In addition to the two main halls, there are numerous other possibilities for film motifs or photo shoots. One of these is a cellar, which is particularly suitable for dark and mysterious scenes. There are also other rooms on the premises, such as the so-called control centre and the Pliestersaal, which can be used for small sets. Especially the control center is suitable for historical shoots.
The spacious outdoor area can also be used. There are numerous parking spaces on the premises (up to 150 cars) and there is a ground-level possibility to transport equipment into the building. The halls can be heated or air-conditioned as desired. W-LAN and power connections are available. There are permanently installed bar facilities in each of the halls. There are sufficient toilets available in the location. When using one of the halls, the other hall can be used as storage and alternative area, as well as for crew catering, etc. If further places of retreat are required, this is also possible by arrangement. Chairs, tables and bar tables are available as required.
The building can be reached quickly from neighbouring major cities (Wuppertal 17 km, Leverkusen 19 km, Düsseldorf 30 km, Cologne 35 km). In addition, there is a very good connection to the public transport.
Our location thus offers an ideal film and photo backdrop for historical and industrial shoots, which will have a particularly authentic effect due to the listed details.
