The listed Old Port Authority is living history! In its original function, the brick Gründerzeit ensemble was the Office for Electricity and Port Construction. It was built in 1885/86 on Grasbrook in the emerging free port and is the oldest building in HafenCity. Not only were the maps written in the Hafenamt, but for a long time it was also a contact point for seamen who brought their experiences from all over the world. This biography as well as the sensitive handling of the old building represent the guideline for the interior design. The Augsburg design team DREIMETA around Armin Fischer is responsible for this and designed the hotel in the style of a homely captain's home: The dignified figure of the old harbor master is the godfather and accompanies the guest inspiringly through the house. As many historical details as possible were preserved and integrated in a creative interpretation. The design quality lives from the sensitive handling of exciting materials, nostalgic collector's items and new objects.

In addition to the highly variant floor plans, all retreats are connected via two color worlds. "One approach goes in the direction of beige-blue-brown, the other line plays around the nuances of pistachio and terracotta," says Britta Kleweken, describing the concept: "We play with these colors in tiles, materials, fabrics and combine matching furniture in a lively mix of styles." Sought, found, collected: Vintage objects meet flea market finds, new harmonizes with old. The loose furniture varies in each room and individually enriches the identical basic furnishings of the 49 quarters.
